Leaving their busy corporate lives in the rearview, the two sets off into a world filled with adventure, culture, and exploration. Exploring an alternative lifestyle and abandoning societal norms, in search of social upliftment and enrichment. We invite you on this journey and aim to showcase a life lived and shared.
Our blog invites you into our lives, while we do the things we love. We will post weekly blogs and videos on our hiking expeditions, water sports, exploring nature and animals, visiting places across the world and learning its cultures, and provide advisory information to those curious enough to challenge their societal norms and take on an adventure that dreams are made of.
LANA
Hi, I’m Lana.
I am a ‘paper-pushing’ Nature Conservationist who has settled in a career involving unblocking sewerage drains and comforting the uncomfortable man on the street. I deal with all things urban management related. Contrary to the current life I’ve settled in, at the age of 15, my heart was in fact filled with fantasies of wildlife exploration and saving species.
Some of my adventures involved cheetahs running along a beachfront, being close enough to hear them purr; relocating penguins who have made homes in neighbour’s backyards; smelling roses with meerkats, and even seeing zebras run towards the sunset.
My dream was always to - See more. Learn more. Inspire more. About 4 years ago, life handed me a handful of bitter lemons, and I ended up accepting a job which was about as exciting as ironing my white collar shirt on a gloomy Monday morning. I’ve been stuck in that job ever since. While grateful for being able to put bread on the table, something has always been amiss since then.
Luckily, I’ve met someone who possesses the same hunger for change and exploration as I do. This blog will become our artistic expression. Our hope for a future filled with discoveries and adventure.
NATHAN
Hi, I’m Nathan
Life for me has been a journey filled with ambition, hard work, and tiresome hours. I work in the public engagement domain, where I create both physical and digital platforms for the local municipality to engage with its citizens on a host of initiatives, laws and proposals. As a team we have achieved a Meritorious Award, we mingle with political leaders and share goals to develop our communities.
While most would find this enriching, I have always been left feeling empty and wanting. See, I’ve been doing this gig for the past 13 years and held many positions over the years, all developing and shaping my professional career in local government. Like most people I never chose this job, but I have made a success of it.
A few years ago I fell in love with my soulmate, cliché I know, but ever since then I no longer seek a life filled with plaques, titles and wealth. Lana and I found comfort in each other, in nature and in our little adventures. So we decided to embark on a journey for a life filled with moments and exploration. I am striving for a life well-lived, and not just one well-existed.
